"Capability Led Transformation for Impact in New Age Investigations & Law Enforcement"

India spearheads the launch of a global initiative against Cryptocurrency Crimes. BEGIN India Think Tank partners with United Nations Technology Innovation Labs, India.

In the new age of digital evolution, law enforcement must keep pace with the challenges posed by novel business models and technologies. The growing emergence and use of cryptocurrency in everyday situations brings an ever growing influx of dangers and opportunities.

Cryptocurrencies are now used for investing, trading and as a means of payment for goods and services. But it is globally accepted that its foremost use is for ‘money laundering & funding illegal activity’, almost unnoticed. On the one hand, private cryptocurrency poses potential dangers and challenges in its peer-to-peer form of use. That makes it anonymous & untraceable, hence a grave threat to the fiat currency, financial equilibrium & national security of countries. On the other, the most apparent question of ‘How to Tax Cryptocurrency Selling & Trading’ arises with it.

Which brings us to the point where nations encourage a new set of rules to deal with the issues posed. However, till that happens, many countries are adopting innovative thinking in the existing framework of Policy, Compliance, Law Enforcement to keep its menacing face in check. It has resulted in tax compliance, collection & by bringing forensics tracking and bringing all such financial transactions within the formal financial framework.
